Asur is a gripping crime-thriller series on Voot that didn’t just mark Arshad Warsi’s OTT debut but also introduced viewers to a unique cat-and-mouse chase between two forensic officers from the CBI and a serial killer – juxtaposed with Indian mythology. Vella Raja is Amazon Prime Video’s first Tamil web series. It was released on the OTT platform in 2018. The story revolves around Deva, a fugitive drug mafia who’s hiding at an old motel called Bawa Lodge and Theresa, a cop who won’t rest till she’s captured him. The series is a ten-part gripping narrative that takes place on a single day in the lodge – that is also occupied by other guests.

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, City of Dreams is a politically charged ten-episode series set in Mumbai and New Delhi. After a failed assassination attempt on one of Mumbai’s most influential political leaders, Gaikwad, his son and daughter turn against each other to take control of Gaikwad’s party. The show explores the themes of gender, violence and also sex trade.
Afsos traces the life of an inherently depressed man, Nakul, played by Gulshan Devaiah, and his multiple unsuccessful suicide attempts, till he finally hires a member of the “Emergency Exit” agency. This agency specialises in assisted suicides and takes on a contract to kill him. But as soon as he hires them, his entire life turns upside down. He suddenly finds love and also gets chased by a hermit, who believes that he’s immortal.

This comedy gem from the mind of Zakir Khan, follows him as a jobless 25-year-old, whose entire life is based on a lie – which comes back to haunt him in hilarious situations. The series debuted in 2018 and comprises only 8 quick episodes that can be binged even on a busy workday.
